Meet the Team

Miss Kimmy (Director / Owner)

Miss Kimmy has dedicated her life to nurturing and inspiring young children through early childhood education. Her passion began in 1987 when she started teaching preschool, followed by five wonderful years in kindergarten. After gaining valuable experience as a center director at a large school, Kim followed her lifelong dream and opened MunchkinLand Preschool in 1999.

For more than two decades, Miss Kimmy has created a loving and welcoming environment at MunchkinLand, where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. She believes in creating a place where every child is known, celebrated, and encouraged to grow and thrive.

Outside of MunchkinLand, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, Damon, their three children, and her two grandchildren. She loves decorating, entertaining, and making memories with family and friends. Her greatest joy comes from being part of the many families who have made MunchkinLand such a special part of their lives and the Reno community.

Miss. Rissa (Assistant Director / Lead Pre-K Teacher)

Miss. Riss has been a valued part of the MunchkinLand Preschool family for over five years. With her CDA Credentials and a true passion for early childhood education, she consistently finds creative new ways to make learning fun, engaging, and memorable for the children in her care at this leading daycare in Reno.

Marissa’s incredible artistic talent shines through in the thoughtful projects and activities she creates with the children. She loves encouraging their creativity, celebrating their individuality, and helping them discover the joy of learning through hands-on experiences, all of which are integral to our preschool curriculum.

One of the things Miss Rissa treasures most is building meaningful relationships with each child and their family. She strives to create a warm, welcoming environment at MunchkinLand where everyone feels like they belong. While she may not be a parent herself, she has a heart full of love for every child at MunchkinLand and cares for each one as if they were her own, making it one of the top child care options in Reno.

Miss. Tierra (Lead Toddler Teacher)

Miss Tierra comes from a big Reno family and is a proud aunt to four nephews whom she absolutely adores. With over five years of experience in early childhood education, Tierra has a natural gift for caring for children. Her calm, patient personality helps create a warm and comforting environment where children feel safe, supported, and loved.

Tierra earned her CDA in 2021, further strengthening her knowledge and passion for early childhood education. She loves bringing music and movement into the classroom and can often be found singing and dancing with the children to all kinds of music!

Outside of MunchkinLand, Tierra enjoys attending concerts and traveling with her family. Her love for children, cheerful spirit, and genuine care for each child make her a wonderful part of the MunchkinLand family.
